Hi i have had burning aches and pains in my left front of thigh for two weeks now. I went to alton towers and my legs were very much pushed into the seats and the bar that came down dug into my legs could this have cause a tear or strain maybe. I also did alot of walking. Also can strains or muscle sprains last a few weeks?

Pain in top of leg
We've been through this before, Kylie! What's up ?
I want to know if its from the rides at alton towers or walki g on it uo and down hills like i did through the gardens at alton. Im not an active person and am over weight. Its not meralgia paratheitica the doctor has said that. My whole fron of my thigh burns and i get a pain in my muscle well i think its my muscle. My question is can i get pain for this long (2 weeks) from a strained or inflamed muscle. And could i have done that by the alton towers rides pushed extreamly hard against my thigh whilst on the rides. They dont itch its not the sides and its not my whole leg. Its the front, its a pain and it burns
You said before that it was your whole thigh- not just the front. Now youvare saying it IS the front.
If it IS the front then I repeat my initial thoughts ( not allowed to say diagnosis ).
What's really going on for you?
I have had Meralgia Parasthetica for five years. There is no real cure for it. Painkiller gels help , as does Tens. Heat makes it worse.
Don't scratch the itch- rub it.
I wish you well.
Hi Kylie,
I had similar sudden similar pain all round left thigh, and down shin bone. Managed to see RheumyCon within 3 days on direct access, he diagnosed nerve problem in back. Tooth ache was a 2/10, this sometimes 8/10, ambulance was a 9/10.
Found acupuncture really worked well, first treatment limited thigh pain to just the front, and same with shin pain. Second lowered thigh pain down to 3/10, and shin pain almost gone. Going for third in a week or two.
MRI Scan has confirmed prolapse discs at L4, spinal consultant recommended wait and see, as historically, 80% heal themselves given time and care. Went off work 9th May this year, with above pain treatment, leg a lot better and back not so achy.
Yours could be any of these, so would see GP asap if I was you. If this is a new problem, you need it recorded for 'PIP' or 'ESA' purposes, let alone to get treatment. Fingers crossed for a simple diagnosis, do let us know.
