Hospital again.

I got rushed into hospital again last night with another hemiplegic migraine. I was taken straight to resus in case I was having a stroke. My MRI results showed that I have suffered some mini strokes in the past. This time the hemiplegic migraine has left my semi paralysed on my right hand side, hopefully only temporary.

Hope you are all having a good day.

Oh, I am really sorry to hear that! Like you say, hopefully the paralysis is only temporary. Are you on a ward or did they let you go home? Wendy

What sucks the most is that I cannot have the pain management treatment I was supposed to have today. I was due for nerve blocks and possibly radiofrequency abalation, both of which I can't have until the numbness and partial paralysis on my right side goes. I have waited a year for treatment at the pain clinic and now it is on hold until mid-september if my condition improves. fingers crossed, because the thought of not being able to have nerve blocks is not appealing!!

I am now home but am waiting to go back to see the stroke team and or neurologist.

Hi, I'm very very sorry to hear this !!!!

Since 2005 I have fought the NHS for treatment for my Chronic Pain.

I have been told by 6 + NHS Consultants that I need "Deep Brain Stimulation"

But everytime the "NHS" won't Fund the treatment.

I have gone from Birmingham to Oxford to Liverpool to London to Bath to the House of Commons in London.

But the NHS still won't fund the treatment.

Why !!!!

Why !!!!

O'Why !!!!!

The hospitals are owned by the NHS so no money required.

The staff are NHS & are fully trained so again no money required.

The equipment is owned by the NHS so yet again no money required.

Why have Consultants/Consultations when any decisions are squashed in the end by the "high & mighty"

O'well we are all only numbers in the end !!!!

Steve.

i live in scotland and i was very surprised to find out that the hospital is not owned by the NHS it is owned by the BANKS andLEASED to the NHS and so are the parking facilities and the televisions at each hospital bed. so now i know why the parking is £7 per day and the televison rental is £10 per day. you can buy a £5 television card, but it runs out even if you turn of the television. it is complete robbery. There is also air conditioning in the hospital but it has been broken for a few years and the reason its not getting fixed is because the hospital belongs to the BANKS and they wont fix it as it to expensive. so everyone is boiling alive. you should make some investigations in your city and find out if the Banks own your hospital and LEASE it to the NHS.

Hi Grace.

Yes our new hospital here in Birmingham which cost £600 million + pounds to build which is privatey owned.

The NHS pays rent for the use off it.

I was in hospital yesterday & the ward that I was on was a 4 bed ward with tv's & none off them were being used as they are to expensive.

I had payed for there use previously, which cost me £50 pounds + to use on every time

I would have payed £100s on my many visits.

There are only freeview channels to watch on them as well.

This visit I used the free radio which was much better for me. I came home yesterday with all the money in my back pocket & not there's.

"Bargain"

Thank you all for your kind words. As you all know it does really help to know there are others who understand what you are going through, especially when it comes to pain.

Hope you are all having as good a day as possible.

Hello Dunkdl,

I hope that the semi paralysis is continuing to wear off.

Fingers crossed that your treatment gets the go ahead.

Best wishes,

Dave

Hi Dave, thank you for the message. I am making progress, very slowly, but progress none the less. It is very frustrating to say the least. It has affected the inside of my leg and arm the most, having far more movement on the outside.

Have a good day.

Duncan
