Recovering from shingles (2nd bout). Recovered completely from 1st bout but got to the doctor for anti-viral medications within the window. This time I got there outside the window..took anti-virals anyway so may have helped some. Any new ideas for PHN...

Sorry none at all. It's just one on my list of aches and pains with ME and fibro. I only have PHN in a couple of fingers and my left elbow. It's everywhere else that really hurts for me.

I am trying Valtoran gel (prescription gel) and it seems to be helping. Feeling. Much better. Janet

I've had PHN for nearly 9yrs and in all that time there has been very little progress on how it is treated. There's still no cure and now doctors are getting paranoid about prescribing drugs which help. My PHN is down the left hand side of my torso and affects everything from eating to breathing! If you are not already a member, there's great PHN FB page which has been a life saver for me, wonderful people from the UK and all over the world who are so supportive and helpful. Using voltaren gel topical. Prescription. seems to be helping. nurse in doctor's office knew I had some and suggested I try . Janet
