Hi cheechee85. The pain in your groin and leg is more than likely refered pain from your back. You need to get your docter to check it out and to give you some pain relief. While your waiting try a hot water bottle or heat pad to try and ease the pain and over the counter pain meds. The chemist can advise you if you tell him whats going on. It could be just that the muscle has gone into spasm or a slipped disk, vertabra or pinched nerve. All of these are painful.

That sounds exactly like a urinary tract or kidney infection to me - especially as you are having pain when passing urine and its only on one side. Get a urine sample off to your doctor as soon as you can before it gets any worse. At my surgery I can just phone up and ask to get a nurse to check a sample for infection, or even just take a sample in and ask the receptionist to give it to a nurse to check, which saves having to wait for an appointment.

If you are feeling that ill, then its probably already fairly bad, so get it sorted quickly before you risk damage to your kidneys. In the meantime, drink loads of water to try and flush some of the bugs through.

I am a long term back suffer, from what you say it sounds back related, but as earthwitch said it could be cystitis if this reaches you kidneys, it wil be very painful, see a Doctor without delay, eliminate the water infection first, then if it continues, come back on site, I have put quite a few post on here, regarding

Lumbar or waist line back pain, in the mean time keep your waist level warm

definitely eliminate the water infection first. It can get serious but is very easily treated. I know how serious it can get from being ambulanced to hospital almost comatose in my teens and being there for three days on IV antibiotics. That was actually totally unnecessary, if I had only gone to the doctor early enough.

Hi, I do agree with what you say, that's why I advised checking this out first, before getting involved with back problems, which can have very simular simptoms, I have experienced both, but urinary infection is

more urgent and needs eliminating first,

Hi I have had a similar pain but on my right side. It goes from my back into my groin and hurts a lot when I cough, sit down or go to have my bowels opened. This has been going on now for 2 months. I have an MRI booked for this Saturday. If I find out anything I will let you know.Cheechee85
