New medication

Hi has anyone been on MST 30 mg an 5 mg.

How did you find they worked?

I will probably start taking MST tomorrow after I see the doctor.

I'm on that dose twice a day but they only take a bit of pain. The constipation is bad.

Dee James I stopped taking MST for that very reason as it was affecting my work etc.

Am off all pain medication.

I was on MSN for just over 3yrs. I was weaned off them last year, as over time they stop doing anything....

Joe69 hi well MST was too much for me I stopped taking them ad I had not long started.

I did not consult my GP .

iv'e been on mst for 6 years taking 120mg a day they did help the pain but left me feeling lifeless, I started reducing the dose with the help of my doctor,but after suffering with sever withdrawals im now on10mg every 8 hrs instead of 12 hrs , I don't have the courage to reduse anymore, im in a lot of pain, but im enjoying life again,

please think before you start taking them..,

Katakana hi looks like it's 2 15 mg and 10 mg morphine pill every 4 hours as required.

Will see how this goes.

Katakraa hi Am off my MST medication my choice.

I did not ask the doctor I just stopped as I had not long started taking them.

As off now I am on no pain relief.

How are things with you then?

I'm on two 30mg MST twice a day and the constipation is awful despite eating well, hydrating and taking an anti constipation tablet.

Hartleyhare2 hi I had no choice but stop taking the MST as constipation was so bad it affected my work.

Pain yes it's still here.

Am sore but just now no medication.

After being to pain clinic today I think I'm going down same route the constipation is getting so bad!

hi samtheop and hartleyhare2 i was on 120mg of mst for 6 years i have reduced to 30mg a day the withdrawles were terrible and i do not have the courage to go through them again. so im stuck with the pain but about the constipation i would go once every 2 weeks, but a few months ago my doctor gave me laxido sachets you have to find the correct dose but they really work good look.

Hi katakraa, wow 120 is a lot I am on 60mg a day and that's bad enough. I also think some of the other medication I'm on contributes to it as well. I am on a capsule called Doucousate which is supposed to help but doesn't really. I shall look up the laxido sachets.

hi hartleyhare2 the doctor tried lots of different laxatives but finding the right dose on laxido has been fantastic. hope you find something that works for you

Katakraa am sorry too hear that as I can understand just what it's like.

Since I stopped my MST the pain I get is sadly still here.

Yesterday I went to my doctor as I have flu like symptoms turns out a chest infection was the diagnosis so am off work for this week.

Feeling awful just now.

Also I asked the Doctor if she would prescribe my Cocodamol 30/500mg pills.

At least I know where I am with them.
