I've just started taking cymbalta for chronic nerve pain in my hands and already I feel so sick. Does the nausea normally pass after a short period. If not this sensation is as bad as the pain. Any advice out there please.

I started on 60mg at night and felt nauseous and shakey for about 2 weeks. It passed and I was given 30mg to take in the morning. This dose made me feel terrible so I went back to 60mg and felt better. Hope you persevere as it can take time to adapt to it so gp says.

It didn't with me unfortunately. You could ask about starting with a lower dose until you get used to it. Also ask whether its possible to take it at night as that way you can sleep off the worst of it. Failing that, ask about different types of antidepressants - sometimes the older ones like amitryptylline are actually much easier to tolerate as well as more effective.
