Hi all you may recall I saw the pain specialist couple of weeks ago and have app to see gp tomorrow to get prescription. He wants me to start on 300mg at night then gradually increasing over the weeks up to a max of 1800mg a day. this seems a high dosage but off course I don't know if this is the maintenance dose. Can anyone offer any info from their experience? II also mentioned that my daughter who ha ME aged 22 is in hospital with severe tummy pains. I had a rant last night at medics as she was left all day without seeing a doctor and given paracetamol! she has just rung to say they are doing an endoscopy tomorrow. I'vve asked for her B12 and folate to be checked based ion advise from someone on here yesterday..... sorry Can't find the post atm but thank you to who ever it was.
Hugs

I am on 2700mg a day, good luck with it. Will add I have ME too, hope your daughter is ok, sadly tummy troubles go with it including IBS she may need antispasmodicts.
It helps great, I was in a wheelchair with the pain and numbness etc but can now walk with just one crutch so very happy. Tried pregabalin and it was good but it left me stoned all the time
Oh that is rubbish, why so long? If she is in the hospital she should be bumped up to the top of the list. X
Thanks. They've now discharged her without doing endoscopy and bringing her back as outpatient for it. I live about hour from her and was unable to drive down today but I would have let them know how unacceptable it is. Sadly her father didn't advocate for her.
Rather than drawing attention to 1800mg, I would focus on how your body is responding, it may be that at 600mg you could achieve good pain control. The increase in dose should also match with your medication tolerance as you continue to explore what works for you.
I'm takin 2700 gabapentin but pretty sure,it won't get increased, as it's a pretty high dose an along with other meds in taking I think I'm on more than enough. How ru finding gabapentin? Hope it's helpin.x
