Cancer Tongue

Over 6 months ago I had an operation to remove a cancerous growth on my tongue. I am still suffering pain from the grafting operation and the removal of the gland on my neck. I have pain from my fingers to my shoulder and my ear and neck are both sore and numb. I would be pleased to know of others' experience who have had a the same operation

can I suggest that you contact the consultant's secretary, mention your difficulties and ask for an appointment? (don't just ring the appointments office, they won't understand.)

regards,

hamble.

I have seen the consultant but once the surgery has been done by them they do not seem interested in any residual problems. Indeed they may not have the skills to deal with them. After over 6 months of pain I am seeing an orthopaedic consultant next week

After following "hamble99b" advice I suggest you see a McTimony chiropractor. You could have a muscle spasm which is causing pressure on a nerve root.

Unfortunately medical consultants know very little about muscle spasms. This is an area that the complementary medicine has always dealt with because complementary medicine uses their hands to relieve pain while the standard medical treatment is drugs.
