But enjoyed today, tomorrow is our house then Sat I'm off to our Metro Centre {shopping Centre} I've a scooter booked for it so I can buy a fair few things if necessary.....When I go in on 2 crutches there's not much shopping you can do LOL

Hi Hileena,

I am so sorry to be so late in replying to your post, but I crashed out early last night, only to waken in the middle of the night to find my poor cat meowing for his supper!! I thought I wouldn't get back to sleep, but I did until 10 a.m.

I had a reasonably quiet day, which is what I needed, but did go along to a friend who lives a few doors away, but had to leave early, due to walking on uneven ground which seemed to jar the nerves in my neck and head, and set off the neuralgia, but apart from that it was good, and Santa was very good to me to.

A metro centre! I have never been in such a place in my life, as I live on a small island with few shops!! I would need a scooter too to get around it, but wouldn't mind using it there if lots of other people were doing the same thing. Its a shame you are on crutches as that is very limiting. I hope you get plenty of bargains tomorrow. Talking about bargains, I did mean to spend at least part of today looking online for a back up to my lappy in a sale. I am looking for a netbook with windows preferably as that is what I am use to, but they are proving hard to find, or are too expensive to have just as back up. You never know, I might not be too late yet.

Enjoy your shopping.

Hi Huggs

Its now 10pm UK time.......I'm about ready to collapse.....got rid of all the guests, and got everything tidied and washed....well most things anyway. Peter spent his time carrying things from living room into the kitchen as with one hand you cant do much LOL So I ended up staying in the kitchen and clearing dishes etc.

Whereabouts do you live?

I fought with myself about a scooter at first......No I'm not having one of those etc This was me fighting with myself lOL My daughter one day said about a scooter and I said no I'm not giving in.....she said Mam its not giving in......Look at it as a coping mechanism.....it will let you do things you couldn't otherwise do......Talk about a role reversal LOL but she was right and I got one and have never regretted it although I only use it if I have to on long trips or very hilly places.

Well tomorrow I'm off on the hired scooter.....whether I get anything or not I don't know but I'll enjoy myself.

Love

HI Hileena,

I am so sorry for not getting back to you for so long, but I completely crashed out on Friday night and all day yesterday, only waking for a short while and then back to sleep. I think a lot of recent events and the past few months caught up with me.

Nuff about all that rubbish.!! lol

How did you get on at the Metro centre, and did you get any bargains. Is that the one in Manchester? I am not really up on all these things as I live on an island and don't hear a lot about those types of places. It is a small island of the west coast of Scotland called the Isle of Bute, and is a beautiful place, but when it comes to shops and things then that is one of the drawbacks. I only got online two years ago roughly, and was amazed at what type of things you could buy now!! lol

Due to illness I haven't managed to go to the mainland for over two years now, unless it is to hospital and then I go by patient transport. We are around 40 minutes from the mainland so not too far.

When I mentioned a scooter, I didn't mean I really need one for getting around, just that I would if it was in a place like the Metro, as I cannot walk too far, and I just thought if lots of people were zooming around on them, then I wouldn't mind it either!!

Its a bit nippy here at the moment as it is minus 4 and is to drop further, but we have avoided the snow apart from on the hills, which is a shame as I love it. Everything is pure white though, with the frost, and it hasn't shifted all day.

Hope you have recovered after your outing, and as long as you enjoyed it, that's the main thing.

Take care,

hugs from Huggs xx :)

Hi Huggs

Don't worry about not getting back......you must have needed that rest so you make the most of it when you can....I have problems sleeping at the minute.

Its The Metro Centre in Gateshead {Newcastle upon Tyne}

To be honest it was an awful day......mostly people are very nice and helpful and now that I have some lights on one pair of crutches they smile and speak to me. In a big place that's not as normal as it would be in your place.

Sat...everyone was rushing about {worse than before Christmas} pushing and shoving at sales.......when I got off the scooter to walk around shops I nearly got knocked down a few times.....on the scooter they just walked straight at you not moving out of the way until I thought....OK mate.....your toes will come off worse if you don't move LOL ....Possibly 3 or 4 kids...well age 20 something walking abreast and not separating when you were coming....there's only one of me I cant separate LOL

So I decided to just keep going straight, [very slowly] those things don't go fast........they moved out of the way when I was nearly on their toes

The only thing is it's not normally like that.

I'll get back again during the week sometime

Sorry for the moan.

It seems a long time not to get to the mainland....any chance of it happening soon.?

Do you buy things online at all?

No snow here yet, although coming home this morning there were a few cars passed me covered in snow...not sure where they came from LOL

Its been very frosty here today and patches of ice all over but not as bad as yours sounds....just sheltered places kept the frost all day....Its 11pm now and everything is frozen solid.

You take care

Love

Hileena
