My gran is 87.. Has a full day apptment for new battery in her heart!!well they don't put you to sleep!!!last ones been in 14 year!! 4 year longer has good lot nurse said??!!any how she's got bad dementsure ??!!got bad over last year or so worst its been..I am going with..but will they be able to cope if she frecks????Tuesday next week..bless god dam demetsure its stolen my lovely Nana!!!she still lives at home only because my 90 year old grand a s the best carer !!he's in ill health..what should I expect she's was all there when got last in,,,,,,,,xx

Sorry Louise, not entirely sure what some of your words are but. I can be sorry to hear of your troubles. Dementia is a terrible thing indeed but bear in mind that none of us knows what that persons mind is actually taking in. We only know what it seems to be putting out, if you follow me. Continue to relate to your nanna as you always have done, even if things have to be done for her as never before.

Hi calceolaria.. She's getting a new pass macker.. They do it when awack..she was OK last time 14 year been in.so in need if new has not working to good..when I look in her eyes can see its like a frightened little girl...I will most likely have this cruel thing..has all name down her side had it..even though I am not good I wouldn't let no one does go..she was there for me when younger..then at 15. When left home..had my kids who helped...got bad these last 2 year def getting bad..and poor grand a who's 90.. He gets stressed with her!!!!they need to do more for us with this!!you knew they only end last year got help!!!!only because my grand a was in hosptail..I was catering for then 24\7.. And got ill.. So had meeting got carers in..pease mind ..but. ..I don't knew...its not has we d do things......hope OK Tuesday xxx

There is drug being used to prevent Alzheimer's getting worse. It is called Aricept. It does not cure or make better and not everyone is suitable. Ask.

This one was offered to an Aunt who I was looking after and she was taken of this medication as she was not responding to treatment. Sadly she was not offered anything else and was allowed too terminate

Borderriever..sorry to hear that..really.....there is a few different ones..that's bad she wasn't offered any thing else..sad..my gran was only on the start of it dementsure..I saw signs,.so got on meds there then!!!think if far on dementsure saidly not a lot but good care can help !!!!♥

Calceolaira.. She's on something forgot name...it must be doing something!!?as would be a lot worse now..its in 3 stages...think its pink...it helps to slow down.not to stop it?!!shame eh there's not a lot really...lots of us they say will get it

She's doing well if she's lived that long, but in time things are likely to deteriorate. With dementia she is bound to get worse. If she has a nurse then they will keep a check on her and do all they can, but with dementia there are bound to get worse so why not ask her if you can get her GP to see her with you there so you can know what to expect? You could ask how you can help.

Hi secondhandrose.. Thank you ..yeh her mam died at 61 with the awful thing..but has my Nana had 4 young kids etc job 2... She had to put her in a home and pay for it..she always felt bad...god love she must of asked 20 times so what's wrong with me??thought I was OK!?!meaning don't need a peace macker in....lucky I don't think has has bad has some I've carered for!!must be gut hurting not kneeing their husband daughter son etc..she does..I think if my grand a goes???? God hope not??!!!!she will be away with dementsure...has my grand as been hosptail a lot over few years gall bladder etc..she went different..didn't go bed etc..took two lots of meds went walkes!!! Was crazy.. Love to bits..I always said I'd never but in a home...carers go in 3 times a day!!I think she needs folk who knows needs of dementsure.?in way bit like austim.. Changes etc..makes her lose the plot xxx

Louise - sorry to hear about your nana. My dad has the same problem (he's 91). When you go to the hospital appointment with her (or when your grandad does) just make sure the nurses there know about her dementia. That way, they'll be able to help her and make sure she's fine. I hope it all goes well for her.

Hi carolineC57.. Thanks..got letter today good job has she needs to stop her warfran,, her mam had dementsure but sadly died at 61...x in will let them knew I will stay with her all night if need be,,,if always noticed when my grand as been ill and in hosptail she got worse ..she knees us all which is great!!forgets names but knees us..xxxx
