I can't sit or lie in the majority of positions as it is agony. The ones I can do are very uncomfortable. It's unbearable, it's stopping me sleeping and doing general things. Pain is also triggered when I turn my head so far around to look behind me. I really need some help!

Hello 12 jjones4.
First question has to be - have you had any diagnosis?
Second have you been prescribed any treatment?
It could be any one of a number of conditions.

Please do not wait or accept any fobbing off by anyone, because it could be emanating from your neck, and I had basically the same after an accident and I kept on just taking painkillers ,and today I'm pretty much a recluse because never knowing when it will start (as the only thing is that works to take the pain away is to lye down) and boy do I wish I never persevered because with neck injuries (no matter how small ) they can ruin your life and I wish you well, and hope you find or have a good doctor who listens.
This is masseur, chiropractic, osteopathic and other muscle manipulation territory.
It sounds like you have had a muscle spasm. Depending where they are they can be respond to light massage or heavy manipulation. Heavy will hurt..
Try lying on the floor with knees bent and a book/books under your head for a period of 20 minutes and see how that effects your condition.
Check with GP that it is a muscle spasm and nothing else.
Hope this helps
Yes, check with GP re other things too. Frozen shoulder, rotator cuff tear, pinched nerve from neck vertebra. A scan would be useful.
Sounds like me some days I have Fibromyalgia. May want to get tested. Hope you start feeling better sweetheart!!! xxx Mitzi
