Anyone got a diagnosis of Myofacial pain?

Hi I have posted another question on how my diagnosis has been changed to Myofacial pain and wondered if anyone else has the same diagnosis? Any help or advice welcome :)

Hello

BOB here

I have problems with the jaw, opening mouth and sometimes eating.

When at the dentist I generally need to go to a dental hospital for a full sedation so that I can have fillings and extractions .

Their is little advice that I can give here I suppose you can exercise the mouth and jaw to keep it flexable.

One problem that I do suffer is if I am in a draft that seems to set it off, this can transmit up into the ear and can cause headaches

All I can suggest is in this case I have too live with it, sorry

All the very best

Thanks BOB, I do have TMJ also and have to wear a mouth guard at night to stop me grinding my teeth, so your advice with be good for that thanks....but Myofacial pain is nothing to do with facial pain, myofacial refers to the muscles in your body (myo) and the facia around them (facia) which of course can involve the face but is not 'facial', joys of the English language..it's pronounced FA rather than Fay...

I have myofacial pain of the neck and back which gives me all over pain from trigger points in my body.

I wish you all the best and hope you get some pain free days x

Hello Mary

My jaw problems are caused by psoriatic arthritis in the joint, so I am unable to open my mouth, the wife likes it as it keeps me quiet. The dentist hates it as it proves a problem when treating me so I suppose it is horses for courses at least others are happy about it. Anything for a quiet life

All the best in health
