I've just bought ban ultrasound unit for home use. It says it is not to be used near metal implants. I have low back and sciatic pain. I think central low back should be fine, but I'm wondering about the outer side of my thigh?
Also, has anyone had a lumbar MRI when they have had two hip replacements?

Tried to post this earlier but it's not taken for some reason. What I was saying was that once of my many physios used one of these on my back to the exclusion of any other treatment. It isn't an ultrasound as such, not the diagnostic scan type but is a low pulsing sonar machine which is meant to speed up the healing process.
HI Missrat, are you having two hip replacements at the same time ??These procedures are usually carried out under X-ray control It would be logistically impossible to do this surgery under an MRI Scan or an ulrta sound, unless it has all changed since I was ATheatre Sister
