chemo
I have been told to strongly consider Chemotherapy both Intravenous and oral:
oxaliplatin
and cepecitabine. I am looking for anyone who has had this chemotherapy and any feedback (I understand everyone reacts differently) as I am scared and don’t know anyone who has.

Update on Spiraling Scans....
The chemo recommended is more specifically- gemcitabine/
oxaliplatin
(GemOx) based on the report of a phase II trial by JL Lee et al (Br J Cancer. 2014 May 13;110(10):2472-8). PSA response rate was 55% (95% CI, 38-72) and radiologic response rate was 82% (9 out of 11).

Folfiri and avastin chemotherapy
She started on
oxaliplatin
which was administered over a period of 6 months.
Oxaliplatin
has left her with severe neuropathy resulting in the loss of mobility her hands and feet. She had a scan 3 months after finishing chemo only to be told the cancer had returned in the same places as before.

Mucinous Ovarian Carcinoma Stage I G3 - chemo or not?
Doctors are divided about advising chemotherapy and I must make a decision, as I've done first cycle on 19 March (
Oxaliplatin
and Capecitabin) and next one was postponed until 29 April, so I can gather more information to make a decision.

Not what I wanted for Christmas
Also
Oxaliplatin
can maybe cause more nerve damage in hands and feet than Taxol? As someone who does art work I do not want to lose sensation in my hands so I'm feeling pretty bleak at mo. Sorry to moan. X

Any experiences or insights welcome.....
I'm due to start a new regime of
oxaliplatin
and capecitabine in a couple of weeks. Has anybody on here received this type of chemotherapy and could you give me an insight into what I can expect side effect wise? Thank you in advance Katie

GEMOX it will be...
As weekly Taxol caused tinnitus, they had a hard time trying to find out something that wouldn't worsen the symptoms, so GEMOX it will be: Gemcitabine and
oxaliplatin
, every two weeks (around 6 hours). It will apparently come with nausea, fatigue and sensitivity to cold.

How quickly can ascities build go up and go down?
The thing I find strange is that as soon as I had the
oxaliplatin
infusion 10 days ago the bloating went away immediately and I was much more comfortable. My stomach looked normal. This lasted a week then it began to swell again.
