hi

Can anyone help me with what juicer to buy.

I know it is best to get a masticating juicer but there is so many models to choose from I don't know where to start.

Does anyone use a specific models they find easy to use and clean.

Thanks for your help

Jackie

I bought a juicer but it was such a faff to clean that I have stopped using it. My diabetes nurse recommends whole raw fruit and veg anyway as it is lower GI.

Hello, it is a dilemma isn't it? In the end I decided to go for the centrifugal ones as I'd seen a masticator being used in a raw food class and it seemed like a lot of hard work (all by hand!) and in my present condition, I didn't think I'd have that kind of strength. Plus they are very, very expensive and I don't have that kind of spare cash. In the centrifugal line, not so much choice: I went with a Philips HR1861, again, not cheap but I wanted something sturdy. And so far I'm happy with it: I call it robojuicer and at first it did seem to take up a lot of room on the counter and glower at me, but now I hardly notice it even though I use enearly every day. Also not too bad to clean, which is a huge deal. Good luck in your search. xxxx

I bought a champion juicer as I wanted a masticating one and all the american juice books seem to talk about this one as the gold standard. I've had it over a year and still use it nearly everyday. It's not too bad to clean, except when you use beetroot of course (then the kitchen looks like a murder's been committed anyway :). I was told by an ayervedic practitioner to add a little oil to vegetable juices to help absorb the vitamins A and D, doesn't taste and it might help.

Hi - I use an Oscar900 Vitalmax - it has been fantastic and used every day since it's arrival. It's smaller than the champion so a little more chopping needed but I have limited space. I would've bought the champion if I had a bigger kitchen. I feel and look so much healthier since I started juicing. Good luck, Rachel x

The Penny Brohn Centre put me in touch with ukjuicers.com and I have just ordered the Omega Vert. The site tells you a lot about the juicers on offer. The one I have ordered is the new model and is a masicating machine. Sorry I can't comment on it until I receive it in two weeks time.

Good luck

Linda

My friend has eaten raw for years and recommends the matstone juicer, easy to clean, expensive but can you put a price on health? I really want to get one soon.
