New Years Resolution

My new years resolution is to STOP buying clothes on-line. In the winter armchair shopping is my favourite pass time, it certainly helps when I am feeling anxious or uncertain about the future. The trouble is sizes vary so much these days from shop to shop and although I have started my January diet......yet again! said purchases invariably do not fit, and what looks good on a 19 year old model looks hideous on me. So I have spent a very productive clearing out all my "It will fit when I loose a few more pounds clothes" and taken 4 black bags full, some of which still have the store labels on, down to my local Cancer Research charity shop (never seen an Ovacome shop have you?) I am determined to stick to this resolution and get off my butt and buy what really suits me and fits correctly........that will be novelty! What is your resolution?

To stop buying boots - I have more than enough ankle boots in various styles to last way past my sell by date even if I were to live forever!

Also to get back to reading a book - I struggle to not get distracted or concentrate these days and miss just reading a decent book or two a week.

Shoes are my downfall! I love the irregular choice brand at the moment, for Christmas my husband bought me a pair called Major Tom (like David Bowie) and they light up 🤩 xxx

I’m a sucker for Fly boots and dr martens - it’s a pity I’m not an octopus as only being able to wear one pair at a time is rubbish - your shoes sound amazing !

A good clear out for me too and to reach my 4 year marker and maybe lose weight, but not down to a size 8!

Always thought I wanted to be, but at my age, realise not a good look xxx

Oh and , sorry!, get rid of the scum that try to scam us and now sell drugs on this site(you know who you are) and have the nerve to like something I said 2 years ago about people scamming us about this same thing! Are we stupid?

Sorry ladies xxx

Hi Lyn. Totally with you on this one! I rarely buy on line and manage to find clothes that meet my expectations of them! The problem with going to shops these days is that few have items in my size for me to try on and even with the same stores the sizes seem very hit or miss. Do I try a 12/14/16? How long are the trouser legs! I’m short but not a teenager and don’t want to t-shirts emblazoned with slogans/advertising etc. At the same time I don’t feel old and want to turn into a beige version of my grandmother! Charity shops are my saving grace. Something a bit off the wall, not the same as in every high street window and even if I only need something for that one off occasion it’s not cost me an arm and a leg. Plus the bonus for the charities I try to support.

Good luck in your search to find what suits you.

Hi Cheryl I agree with you totally, Clearing out my wardrobe and drawers has been so therapeutic. We went to a wedding last summer, I had gained a lot of weight and didn't have a thing to wear, we went charity shop shopping and I was amazed at the quality and choice available, I came home with a beautiful lilac suit......and a hat and matching bag. All for £35................I am a convert!

When I was on steroids I couldn't sleep so was constantly online at night scanning Amazon etc. How many gel pens does a woman need?

And how many cutting dies does someone need and then just look at them and wonder why you bought them in the first place and what the heck are you going to do with them when it seemed a good idea in the middle of the night!

That was great! Exactly my resolution for 2019! My way younger sister came to my house to "help" me clean my closet. She robbed me! Lol. All clothes that I purchased online and don't know what I was thinking at the time. She and her teen daughter will enjoy.

I am trying real hard not to just order online. It's almost as bad as putting down the candy.

Good luck to you and thank you for the smile.
