I saw a different more specialist gynaecologist yesterday and was told that from my ultrasound I either have a borderline ovarian tumour or it is cancer. Got CT on Monday and they will then review all my scans at Fridays MDT before discussing next steps. Ive been told they won’t know if it’s cancer until they take it out and test it. My head is all over the place. I’m only 33. Struggling to deal with all this. I went to doctor initially due to fertility issues (we were trying for baby #3) and at every step the news has got worse. Not sure what I’m asking, just wanted to share what’s going on since I last posted.

Borderline tumour or ovarian cancer
Hannah, I am really sorry and hoping its the best possible outcome. Xxxxxxxxxxxx
Fingers crossed for you!🤞🙏
Dear Hannah, it would be amazing if you did not feel all over the place, so tell yourself that your. Reaction is normal. I just looked at the related posts that pop up under Borderline, see top right hand of this page. They seem quite encouraging. In A strange twist of fate this visit to doc in search of baby 3 may well prove a life saver and may baby3 come along for you all in good time. Big hugs, Emma x
Hannah what devastating news for you, my heart goes out to you. Your mind will be all over the place. I too had something very similar, but I can assure you that things will happen very quickly and you will be very well taken care of. After an Ultrasound it was found that I had a 35cm x 10cm mass which I found out the very next day by telephone. The consultant said that I would get many appointments quickly. I feared the worst. My surgery to remove the mass was scheduled for about 8 weeks later. Christmas Eve and the ladies on here gave me such wonderful advice. It turned out that I had a Border Line Tumour and they removed that and I had a full hysterectomy plus some omentum and appendix. My CA125 gets tested now every 4 months and I am fine. Your consultant is right until they remove the mass they will not know what it is but you will be in the best possible hands. I know you will worry, it is natural the unknown is frightening, but in the meantime try and relax and do things you like. The ladies here are wonderful and will offer you their hearts and experiences. Take Care xxxxxx
Dear Hannah, I am sorry you have this situation and at such a young age. Hopefully they caught whatever it is very early and after treatment you will be fine. I really feel for you and your family. Try not to obsess until you know the facts—easier said than done I know. Take care. Xx
Hannah I am so sorry to hear of this but before you jump to the conclusion it is cancer would they be able to do biopsy? did you have CT with and with out contrast. You are right you are so very young . Hang in there and let us know how you fair.
Debbie
True enough hang in there and let us know!
I can’t believe I’m saying this… it turned out to be a weirdly positioned fibroid hanging down from the womb. So it appeared on the ultrasound to be attached to the ovary and looked like a tumour but actually wasn’t attached to it at all. Just need keyhole surgery to remove it. So grateful.
