diagnosed with a rare and aggresive type of oc
Hi I have a very rare form of OC it's called granulosa cell carsonoma , I've been told that this one does not respond to treatment only surgery x
What type of OVCA does you mum have? Mine is mucinous which is usual too- I didn't respond to my first chemo but was started straight away on another which I am responding to well.
Hello. I was diagnosed with clear cell adenocarcenoma. I, too, had a hysterectomy and removal of tumour - I think this is fairly standard with OC. There is no evidence to suggest that chemo works for this as it can be platinum resistant. What type is your mother being treated for? I believe you can gain a second opinion on the nhs. Perhaps your mum could take part in a trial? Ask her oncologist for any details. Have you tried the Target Ovarian Cancer website, too?

There is a lot of info on there.
If you haven't already, please contact Macmillan, as there is a lot of support there for you and your mum.
Good luck to you and your mum. These are tough times, I know. xxx
Hi I am one of the support line nurses at Ovacome. If you would like to discuss this do feel free to give us a ring 08453710554 or if you know what type of tumour it is we may have a fact sheet about - we do have one called rare ovarian tumours which you should be able to downlaod from our website.
Best Wishes
Ruth
