Sending you a big hug Vivibeatris!

Feeling scared is very understandable, it’s a massive thing to deal with. But you are stronger than you think. Really you are.

The waiting and imagining the worst is the most awful bit. Once you have facts to deal with it becomes easier.

If it is OC then you will find out what stage (hope they have caught it early). A plan for treatment will be made. Your doctors are doing the best thing in investigating this, but it’s horrible for you until you get some certainty.

I have everything crossed for a good result. Don’t hesitate to ask questions here, the lovely people on this site will always share their experience xx

I can’t better what Lindy has said. Of course you’re frightened, who isn’t. Try to stay strong, try to be positive, wait and hear what your experts have to say and remember they are doing wonderful things with new treatments coming along all the time. Sending positive vibes.

As Lyndy says, being scared is very normal and everyone on here has experienced it...and still do!

You could try talking with the Ovacome Support Team on freephone 0800 008 7054 as I know of at least one younger women who wanted to become pregnant and so 'negotiated' with her surgical team and went on to conceive through IVF; Ovacome maybe able to help you with the questions to ask. Very good luck and warm wishes.

Hi Vivibeatris

Sending you lots of hugs. Facing any surgery is daunting especially when it would be life changing. I was terrified.

Have you had any other tests such as a CA125 blood test, CT scan with contrast? Complex masses can be benign and not cancerous. Often a decision on whether or not a mass is cancerous cannot be made until biopsy results after surgery.

Is there any possibility that only one fallopian tube and ovary could be removed during surgery. This may enable you to conceive in future. Could the uterus be left as this would allow ivf even if both ovaries and fallopian tubes are removed. The negative side of more conservative surgery is that additional surgery may be required if cancer is found.

Contact Ovacome for support and advice. Take a friend to your consultant appointment.

can you harvest some eggs? Hopefully you won’t need a hysterectomy 🙏

Just as Lyndy and all the others have said, of course you're going to be scared, that's absolutely natural. But the waiting really is the worst bit, your mind's gone in to overdrive. It is hard but try to to keep busy and stay positive - as my Macmillan nurse said to me - "we don't know what it is until it's out, don't make assumptions". And the surgery will be fine, they know what they're doing and will look after you very well. Hang in there and good luck!💙 We're all here for you!
