I am 6/7 months post debulking/cytoreductive surgery and have just had a clear scan so know that is okay. But I have been feeling uncomfortable under my rib on one side, as if there is something in there (I had feared I was feeling a tumour grow but now know it is not that as scans are clear), and it feels a bit like something is pulling when I lie on my side . Around my lower intestines feel a bit ‘crunchy’ when I sit down. It’s hard to describe exactly, but I’ve gone from it really noticing anything to being very aware of my intestinal area whenever I am in a bent position (or sitting down)
Has anyone experienced this? I’m thinking it must be new scar tissue, gumming everything up a bit?
I will ask my oncologist but just wondering if this is normal?

Hi, yes must say that sounds familiar.I remember at your stage me mentioning strange pulling feelings around my stomach & in my side. Consultant reassured me that it was almost certainly scar tissue as it is indeed a very big operation ! Nearly 5yrs later I still occasionally feel the one in my side but otherwise all is good so hang in there!! Big hugs Deex
I've had all sorts of pain post (and during) chemo. I found out by accident I have pockets of inflammation/ diverticular disease, which I was only was informed about when I raised concerns. Hopefully it won't bother you too much, and great your scans are clear. Also your core muscles may be affected x
