gout and colchicine

Hi,

I woke up last Sunday with swollen big toe and instep just below big toe. Had a phone doctors appointment and sent the doctor photos of foot. Said it was gout and prescribed 3 days of colchicine.

I’ve now finished the colchicine, it’s barely improved, I still cant walk without being in agony.

I just wandered if the colchicine still continues to work after you have finished the last dose, or should I have seen bigger improvement by now?

I didn’t start the colchicine until 4 days after the gout started (due to bank holiday weekend and not being able to speak to GP for another 2 days), could this delay in starting the treatment be the reason I haven’t seen much improvement?

appreciate any advice on this.

You poor thing - I've never heard of this. Just hope that it starts to work now. Any info on the list? Do your oncology team know? Look at the results of this search: healthunlocked.com/ovacome/...

May have more info.
