Loculated ascites recurrent HGSOC.

Hi ladies. Just to ask, has anyone been told they have ascites in little pockets? I believe it's called 'loculated ascites'.They are unable to drain it as it isn't in large accessible volumes. But it does bring discomfort along with growths that are pressing on things too.

Hope today finds you all at least plodding, and coping, as I am just about.

greetings yes my mum has just been told this. She can’t eat and has been vomiting quite a bit as a result. She has just had a recurrence of the stomach lining and is on carbo/calyx. They have tried maxalon and ondanzatron and I think she is now on a steroid to manage the vomiting but now she has diarrhoea! What a mess.

Sorry to hear about your Mum's struggles. The discomforts can be all consuming. I seem to be spending most of my time taking medications to relieve constipation. Docusate, movicol and antisickness tabs. Also regular paracetomol to try and give some relief.

Hi, I was told the same thing last week as my CT scan showed a very tiny amount of ascites deep in pelvic area. My oncologist said it is dangerous to try and drain it as it is so small. He ordered an ultrasound in 2 weeks to see if the volume increased, then a PET scan after that as CT showed only ascites no tumor. But he is sure it’s recurrence. This is such a roller coaster ride. Hang in there!
