Does anyone know much about Elahere? Is it on trial yet in the UK? It seems so many in the USA are having good results.

Yes, there is a clinical trial open for this right now.

It's called GLORIOSA: A study of Mirvetuximab Soravtansine and Bevacizumab as Maintenance therapy in Platinum-sensitive Ovarian Cancer.

Your original tumour must be tested to see if it secretes FRα at over 75%.

Mine was tested. But was only found to be at 25%, so I didn't qualify.

There are other criteria as well including but not limited to:

- have high-grade serous epithelial ovarian, primary peritoneal, or fallopian tube cancer.

- have received prior treatment with a PARP inhibitor as maintenance therapy following first-line treatment (patients with somatic and germline BRCA gene variants only).

- have a recurrence of your ovarian cancer that is platinum-sensitive.

- have had one previous line of chemotherapy for your ovarian cancer.

There are specific websites that can help you find clincial trials that are happening in the uk e.g. cancerresearchuk.org/about-...

Hope that helps

Wow this is so helpful. Thank you. Am I right that you have to be BRCA positive?

I’m sorry you wasn’t able to go on the trial and hope that you have found alternative options x

If anyone is interested in reading the wok of Dr Nasha Winters she has managed to get platinum resistant people back to platinum sensitivity using Mistletoe and diet enabling them to go back onto the chemo they were on before that was working.

I am interested in this as I’m trying to find a trail for BRAC2 have high-grade serous epithelial ovarian recurrence . So for just finished Caelyx/Carbo, still sensitive but only slight reduction of recurrence .

PARP Olaparib failed as my maintenance.

At my last meeting with Oncologist, he said I wasn’t able for the Gloriosa trail. Maybe it’s full! But I live in Lancashire the trial is in south. Also my surgery and lab work was at another hospital done in 2018. Oncologist mentioned as too old to test!

Any ladies on recurrence and still chemo sensitive had any luck finding a trail?

Hello Star

If you check the Target Ovarian Cancer website you’ll find up to date information on trials.

If applicants are invited to be screened for the trial then they will use previous biopsy samples if suitable but if not they may offer to take a new one. The trial is not full. I’m going for the pre screening interview tomorrow.

Ask your oncologist what their specific reason is for deciding that you are not suitable? Unless it’s something that doesn’t meet the criteria shown in the information on the Target Ovarian Cancer site then ask for a referral to be made.

Wishing you a positive outcome

I have just received my 2nd dose of Elahere. I'm in Istanbul, Turkey. It's only approved in the. USA. I was able to import it with special permission from the Ministry of Health and it is covered by my insurance because I fullfill the requirements. I think it is also possible in UK with individual named patient process but it has to be paid by either your private health insurance or yourself. I wouldn't be able to effort it with self pay, my insurance is covering it, but I don't want to think about the premium increase I'll face next year. My oncologist said I will be using it as long as it works. I'll be tested by the end of this month to see if there are any improvements. Keep the fingers crossed :)

Let me know if you need any other information. Wish you all the best.
