Hello Pat, I have had two second opinions for different things, one at Addenbrookes and one at Royal Marsden.
I would suggest that it works best when you have a specific question you want to ask.
You already have Prof F in your corner, so that’s good.
If your current chemo is working well then it might not be the best time.
But perhaps you are thinking about going on a trial? UCL and Marsden both have good research teams. Try searching for a trial suitable for your stage/type on the Target Ovarian site and then you can ask your oncologist to refer you to see if they might take you.
You will have to do a lot of the spade work yourself but it can be rewarding to get a second pair of eyes on your situation.
It will really depend what type of OC you have to what specialist may be best HIPAC may be what you are thinking of whkch is the heated chemo wash suring surgery usually for high grade OC. There is some research but the jury may still be out. Ovacome could be good to ask and could advise on trials etc. They may even be able to suggest some specialists: ovacome.org.uk/
