My mum found out on Friday her cancer has recurred after 11 months. She will start 2nd line treatment of Carboplatin and Caelyx soon, 6 sessions, 1 every four weeks.
Does anyone have any positive stories they can share with me to offer some hope.
We are devastated!

There are some positives here for your Mum, although it’s hard to see them when you know the wretched disease is on the move again.
Firstly because it’s more than 6 months after her first treatment she is still considered platinum sensitive and she is getting carboplatin which is the gold standard agent.
She has every chance of kicking the cancer out with her new chemo regime.
Once it is done she may be offered a maintenance treatment if she did not have this before?
She might also look for a trial or second opinion as to what next.
She may react differently to this chemo…many people do seem to find this combination very do-able.
Don’t despair there are still plenty of options xx
Hi. I recurred after 8 months and had the same chemo as your mum. I found it relatively tolerable. It shrank my cancer by two thirds. Then I went on Olaparib for three years, then another year off it, still ned, but then another recurrence. So I had four years free of cancer.
