Thank you all for your lovely comments. CT scan result shows a small area on the outside of the bowel which needs further investigation. Really shocked to hear this! After the procedure had been told cancer removed. Has anybody had a similar experience? Oncologist unable to say if it’s ovarian/bowel or something else until MRI performed. I would appreciate any advice xx

Well in general good idea to wait for MRI results before knowing what to do but ovarian has a tendency to come back. I am in my 9th year and view it as chronic illness. Good luck

When I was having my TAH, they did some bowel resectioning to make sure they got it all. You’ll need some recovery time, but I’m glad they did it.

Hey Leniko was that because the tumour/ovary was in any way stuck to the bowel? Was there visible sign of cancer there? I ask because they peeled mine off the bowel, but did not resection anything because it was not stuck to the point of not being able to peel it off, and could not see anything and the ovary remained intact.

It was suspicious looking so he removed it. Under lab analysis, I believe it was endometriosis

Wow, good they biopsied it for peace of mind. I've been hoping that is what was sticking one to the other in my case too. I just wish they'd done the same with me and don't know why they couldn't have to be honest.. Thanks for letting me know 🙂

I'm sorry to hear this ORGM. That must have been devastating to hear. I am gunning for your Mum. << edited as I realise it's your Mum you're writing about.

I've seen quite a few women on here who've had recurrence saying they had been told all cancer removed. I was told all *visible* cancer was removed** and there was nothing visible anywhere else.

Have you tried recording your Mum's consultations? I have done this because my partner and I found that in writing stuff down, we were missing the next thing to come up, and we also hadn't been writing other things down that we wished we had. When listening back to the recording I made with my onco, I was amazed 1) at the things I did not ask for clarification on which seemed to be clear but were not and 2) things I had remembered being couched completely differently. eg I remembered her saying 'I fully expect this to behave as a 1A when actually she said 'Hopefully this will behave as a 1A' etc.

It might help to do this. As long as you ask them it's OK and you can set your phone to do it.

Hope this is helpful - this is the way it is intended - and good luck XX << edited as I realise it's your Mum you're writing about

** In my case, the ovary was intact with tumour inside, but slightly stuck to the bowel. Thus a belt and braces approach needed with chemo for anything microscopic that may have escaped (and caused it to stick to the bowel). The irony being of course, that chemo is not guaranteed to work with CCOC. That was not mentioned, I only knew it from my research. I had to bring this up myself!

Yes, it took awhile to be told my CCOC was platinum resistant.
