I am about to start my 2nd line of chemo, carbo/caelyx, having done carbo/taxol/avastin first time round. I was hoping to just get to immunotherapy tbh but it looks like you need to do at least 2 series of chemo first to be eligible... so, anyone else had a similar treatment plan?
Did it work for you? Shrink tumours? Keep things at bay for a bit?
And what were your next stages after these chemo combos?
Have a lovely christmas everyone if you canx

Hello, I am doing carbo/Caelyx third line and it does seem to be acting on my lung mets as breathing is easier now. I am hoping to get a maintenance trial on finishing xx
Personally this chemo combo was a walk in the park for me. Hardly any side affects at all and I managed to work too whilst having the treatment. When you have the caelyx ensure you wear those ice gloves as it stops your hands cracking ( so chemotherapy dept and oncologist told me) . I think my feet were iced up too but can't be 💯 My oncologist also prescribed me Corsydl which I used four times a day which prevented me getting mouth ulcers. This was second line treatment for me. I know we are all different to the way our bodies react to different treatments but this was really a walk in the park for me. Also I had great results with this combo and it shrunk the lymph nodes by 85%. Wishing you all the very best.x
Great news you had good shrinkage! and that it was an easier combo.. and thanks somuch for ice gloves and mouth wash advice.. I havent had any information like that! thanks again and have a good xmas!x
Hi, I’m due to start carbo/Caelyx on January 8th, 3rd line. Great news it worked well for you. Thanks for advice re ice gloves, just wondering if you lost your hair? X
My mum used this for 2nd line treatment. Radiologist and oncologist quoted excellent response. NED and ca125 14 after 4 cycles. She did struggle with this and nausea and her platelets took a battering which is why they stopped after 4 cycles.
Thank you for this information.. its good your mum had good response.. sorry she took a battering re platelets and nausea.. I am hoping this combo produces less nausea for me than the last lot of chemo fingers crossed.. but i guess it will be as it will be..
