Hi just wanted to pop on and connect with others. I was diagnosed in March 2022, I’ve had 6 rounds of chemo and debulking surgery. Like many I was told it will come back 🤦‍♀️. So I decided to radically change my life (I didn’t have a healthy lifestyle prior to my diagnosis). There’s lots we can do to put the odds back in our favour. If you want to follow my story feel free to follow me on all the socials. Just look for @mymatecancer it’s really important to stay positive, our mental health impacts on our physical health, 💕

Hi JacciJones,

I was diagnosed stage 4 in 2015. On chemo for my second recurrence just now. It’s great that you have found a way to support your mental and physical health following your diagnosis.

I have maintained a positive attitude for the most part but I also recognise that this journey is hard. sometimes we need to give in to feelings of grief and despair, sit with them until they dissipate.

We all do what we can to stay healthy in mind and body but this disease takes away, it steals things, it gets in the way of living our best life. We have to be gentle with ourselves.

These days I try to be grateful for any little triumph (today I intend to get my electric trike out and ride it to the end of the road and back…,if it happens I will give myself a pat on the back).

Good luck on your journey xx

Absolutely agree, being kind to ourselves and knowing when to say no to things is really important for our physical and mental health xx hope the bike ride went ok 👍

Thank you very much for this. I am not on socials but do have TikTok and have found the videos which look great - we are on a car journey today so I will take my headphones and watch some later! 🥰 I have learnt the most important thing is not to blame ourselves - easier said than done - and I think we are all incredibly brave. 💕Good luck with your bike ride Lyndy! Xx
