I’ve had 4 round of Caeylx / carbo for first recurrence my Ca125 is now 29 and results of scan show only one spot in stomach left that hasn’t changed size. Oncologist says this is a good response but after getting off the phone I wondered if it hadn’t changed size yet what are the chances that it might!

I can’t say whether there will be a change with spot on stomach. But my OC had already produced stomach tumour when diagnosed . Had half stomach removed by keyhole surgery in my one and only op so far, when a lot of other organs were removed .4b. Painless after surgery. No probs. Very soon began to eat like a horse and still do. So, try not too worry too much. Op was Oct 21. Can give you name of my surgeon if you want.
How often do we all do that? Faced with GOOD NEWS we focus on the only bit that might be problematic. But I do understand.
There’s no reason why the response you have seen so far won’t reach the remaining tumour as you continue. Chemo works cumulatively over time and it will do that. Don’t forget that CT scans are only a snap shot and can be open to interpretation, so it may well already be smaller, it’s just that the picture is showing it’s worst side.
I am so pleased for you and a little bit jealous of your ca125! Chemo is easier to take when you can see the numbers going down. All the best as you continue xx
Hi Purplerose. I had a similar result on my recurrence with the same chemo. After all six cycles one tumor had shrunk but was still about 1.6 cm. My oncologist was fine with it but I wasn’t. I went on Olaparib and that got rid of it. I hope yours goes away. Xx
I had lesions on my momentum and a lesion on the dome of my liver. The chemo shrank the lesions on the momentum but did not on the dome of the liver. I had debulking surgery a couple of weeks ago and the surgeon took most of the lesions out only a few small ones left that chemo should take care,of. But the dome of the liver lesion need to be lazered off, which it was successfully. Might be an option, not sure but you could ask.
I’m in my first recurrence and having 3 weekly paclitaxol. Only just started 1 month ago. I seem to be doing okay with just fatigue and I’ve got a syringe driver with meds for pain.
Sounds like you’re responding well to your treatment. Thankfully. Keep posting.
I had my 1st chemo treatment starting 11/4. Surgery 2/1 and will start chemo 3/2 again. They don't know what stage I'm in. I was 3c before chemo and surgery.
