I hope your all as well as can be. I am stuck at home after surgery on Monday to remove a nodule from my abdomin. So to pass the time I’ve made a new instagram account to help try and spread awareness and positivity about ovarian cancer.
To help get me going, I would really appreciate any followers and or tips and tricks that you think would be worth mentioning, I can mention your name or keep it anonymous.
I had never heard of ovarian cancer before I had it and to be honest what to expect or things to pack for hospital or just general advice about the little things that help. I also have been feeling abit guilty about not doing enough to give back after my treatment so hopefully if I could just help one person it would be worth it.
The account is called @gettingovarit
I thought it’s ironic as you never really get over it but we can try. Below is a link. Thanks all so much for taking the time to read this and I hope you all a nice weekend xx💕
That's a good idea. I also feel like I want to give back and raise awareness. I don't use Instagram very much. Mostly to keep up with my kids but I will follow . Good luck with it x
I do use Instagram but not posted any updates for quite a while on there. I’m looking at a highly likely recurrence so awaiting confirmation of that and will get back to Instagram then as it’s a really positive place with lots of ladies posting from cancer communities, mainly breast cancer but some ovarian too.
I’ll follow you and send you some names of the accounts I follow for support. Hope you feel better after your recent surgery, we’re all in this together and there is tons of support on this lovely forum as well 😊
hi liz, thank you so much for your message. Sorry to hear about your possible recurrence fingers crossed it’s anything but. Yes I’ve notice that there’s not as much for ovarian. We’ll hopefully it will bring abit of light to your day. The main thing is I want it to be lighthearted, god knows we all have so much to worry/ think about. if you can think of anything that really helped you or useful hacks that have helped you with any kind of treatment let me know. Sending all my love and positive thoughts your way xxx
