Started a Blog - The Size of a Melon

I have started a blog to share my experience of Ovarian Caner and hopefully help others. I would really appreciate it if you get time to read it and provide any comments or feedback. A Like, Share of Subscribe would be wonderful.

I was diagnosed with an Ovarian Cyst in February and the cyst rapidly grew to become the size of a melon (hence the name of the blog). I had a radical hysterectomy in March which confirmed cancer and I am now undergoing chemotherapy.

I'd love to help others identify symptoms and get them checked out but also help others going through what I am by sharing my experience.

Thank-you for your time.

Hi I’ve read your blog with great interest.

My only symptom for my OC was one post menopausal bleed.

Although this is a symptom it is usually listed way down at the bottom. All my female friends/family members have taken on board my experience and know this is not something to ignore.

Well done for highlighting this xx Jen

Thanks Jen.

It was the same for me. As you say, when you google symptoms this is not one of the common ones listed. I am SO glad I had it though so my cancer was caught earlier.

Hi, funny that I was also caught early, stage 1a 🤔 I truly believe it saved my life.

Good luck with the rest of your treatment there is a light at the end of the tunnel Jen

This is the main symptom I had and 3 people I know who were diagnosed at the same time had the same symptom. I mentioned mine to my GP in 2017, was ultimately not diagnosed until 2020. I would like to ask both Ovacome and Target Ovarian Cancer to alter the BEAT mantra and include this. At the moment, if you look up post-menopausal bleeding, it says this is very unlikely to be cancer. My fear is that by the time women are feeling bloated, the cancer could already be quite large and we should be trying to stop it before it gets to this stage. Sorry - not feeling very articulate today. x
