Low platelets

I'm currently on a course of 6 carbo taxol. I had my 2nd one 3 weeks ago. It hit me quite hard for the 1st week then I started to improve. A week later I had a slight temperature and tiredness and went to a&e to get it checked out. They said I had an infection and my bloods were extremely low so admitted me. I'm still in hospital 6 days later. Is it normal to be in for so long? I feel quite well in myself.

what treatment have they given you since you've been in hospital ?

Just iv antibiotics. Infection markers are better but platelets still low. There is talk about me going home tomorrow so fingers crossed 🤞

Hi Zelam

It’s not unheard of to end up in hospital, especially if they suspect sepsis. Try to bear with, they will eject you soon enough once they are happy with you xx

Thank you for your reply. I know they're doing their best for me. I think I was just a bit fed up this morning. Back on it this afternoon and hopefully will go home tomorrow x
