New lump at base of my neck

Morning All,

I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer 4 years ago and have just finished a long course of Paciltaxol only to discover a lump at the base of my neck which Google tells me could be lymphoma.

Has anyone had any experience of such a lump and what was done about it?

I would appreciate any insight as I am surprised, not to mention terrified that such a thing would appear after 5 months of chemotherapy.

Thank you

Hi PippesandyI have no experience to share but if you have just finished Taxol then I would encourage you to report it to the chemo team as a possible side effect.

I hope it’s nothing, best of luck, you deserve some time off!xx

Definitely let your onc team know. I had a similar experience during frontline treatment. I had a hard, painless lump on the back of my neck. I saw my PCP first and she gave me antibiotics and told me to let my oncology team know. After a day or two of the antibiotics the lump was gone-it must have been some sort of infection.

Hi,Saw my onc. Today and the lump is cancer in the lymph nodes. Cancer has spread a lot because Paclitaxol has stopped working.

Feeling pretty low.

I'm so sorry to hear that 🙁. As Summergold says, there are lots of treatment options out there, so don't lose hope. That said, I know it is hard to stay positive when you get news like that. I'm wishing you peace and comfort during this time.
