Hello, I’m guessing that if it’s ovarian and you are platinum sensitive, it will involve some version of carboplatin? Sounds a bit miserable though…hope you are ok xx
Hi I'm in the same position as yourself but my reoccurrence is in my obdomin and also affected my bowel so I'm having it removed with a bowel resection. I find out after the MDT meeting which is today if I'm having chemo or the debulking and bowel resectioning 1st. If it is the reoccurrence then It will be the same chemotherapy that you had previously if that one was successful from what I was told. I had calbo/taxel. You might possibly need a biopsy to determine that it is def a reoccurrence and not a new cancer. How are u feeling 2nd time round? I think I'm just going through the motions atm. Anyway take care hope all goes OK today x
I am dealing with one pressing on my urethra. My oncologist talked me out of surgery because of my age, 77 . I was offered radiation which I just completed and which they feel sure will zap it .
I had a second surgery less than a year after the first. Surgeon says it grew right through the chemo, although I suspect he did not get it all the first time, but they don’t want to say that. This time the cancer was close to the ureter. They had the bowel surgeon and the urology oncologist standing by. Only the urologist was needed. I was sent home with a catheter and a urine bag strapped to my leg to wear for two weeks. Although unpleasant, I was in the house most of the time with that. I also had a stent inside me for a month. It was recently removed. Now I can begin to heal. Surgeon says he believes he got it all this time. They are looking at immunotherapy going forward.
Thankyou for getting back to me with your experience.I hope your recovery goes well, and the immunotherapy keeps it all at bay.
Hello, Deesales. I was diagnosed in June 2020 following full hysterectomy and debulking with Grade 3B high grade serous OC. I had trouble holding urine. One night, I got up eleven times to urinate. During surgery, it was discovered that my bladder and urethra were covered with OC. The surgeon, a petite woman with delicate hands carefully scrapped and teased the OC off my organs. The surgery returned full urinary function to me. After surgery, I had front line chemo which put me into remission for ten months. I’m BRACA negative, and going through chemo for my first recurrence. My kidneys have been okay, but recently I had elevated creatinine levels. It seems I had not been drinking enough water. I rehydrated for a week and my levels returned to normal. I hope this information helps you in some way. Best wishes from New Orleans, Louisiana Sashay
