Looks good for the Future

Hi ladies just wondering did any of you ladies read this article today? I am not in the UK but I read about it on twitter & thought it was very interesting. I know it's too late for all of us on here who are already diagnosed but wouldn't it be brilliant for future women if a screening test was finally found that would give women a better chance of survival

Hi Tulips66. It would be marvellous if there could be screening for ovarian cancer. I have a daughter and 3 granddaughters who could benefit from this advancement. Let's hope it comes to pass eventually. Here's praying 🙏 it does. Take care ♥.

Yes I read the article yesterday, I have two daughters , seven grandaughters and two great grandaughters , I'm braca negative but still fear for them . I felt angry that so little is spent on ovarian cancer , everywhere I hear about breast cancer , bowel cancer and prostate cancer but it's rate to see any information or articles on ovarian cancer, hope this is the start of something.Cheryl .

Cheryl I have two daughters myself & even though I am Brca negative I still worry about them & hope they never have to go through what I have. I think none of us would have joined this community or go on-line looking for info if we weren't diagnosed with OC. When other women know I have OC they always ask me what symptoms I had as they are not familiar with them & none of them have ever heard of CA125. They are all aware of Cervical or Breast cancer. More needs to be done to inform women of what symptoms to watch out for by normal channels like an advertisement campaign on TV maybe, the newspapers or billboards but as you say it always boils down to money unfortunately. Take care X

I knew nothing about ovarian cancer, I went to the doctor with what I thought was a UTI that hadn't cleared up after antibiotics, I saw a female doctor who was a locum ,she arranged a blood test and ultrasound straight away ,she phoned me to say the blood test was abnormal and that she was fast tracking me to a gynecologist, I really believe I wouldn't have had the fast diagnosis if I'd seen a male doctor , even then it was 3c .Definitely more needs to be done.

Absobloominlutely 🤞🏼 Xx
