Chemo and Abdominal issues. Weekly Taxol/Abraxane

Morning precious people, I just wondered if anybody has had the same abdominal trouble with weekly Taxol/Abraxane. Im currently 9 down, 9 to go but ever since the 3rd week I’ve had a weird/painful feeling in my abdomen, I feel like someone’s implanted a cannon ball, very similar feeling to ascites but my CA125 is falling dramatically and no evidential swelling. Oncologist doesn’t believe it’s fluid, having scan and appointment next week. Professionals seem a bit bemused 😞 Any fellow cannon ball carriers out there? I hope the suns shining for you all, stay well. Xxx

Sorry I can’t help but wanted to say I’m happy for you that the taxol is working. Could that feeling be neuropathy or scar tissue? I hope you get some reassurance about it. Xx

Thanks Delia, I really hope it’s working, scan tomorrow! Debulking was 2 years ago (wow that’s gone quickly) and I think it started too early for neuropathy, it’s weird paracetamol doesn’t touch the pain but half a codeine and it’s gone. Maybe consultant will work it out on Thursday, otherwise, keep calm, carry on and keep taking the tablets! Hope you are doing fine. Bex xx

Same question as delia2 about surgery. I had debulking surgery and abdomen did weird things to me too but it was all just bc I was still healing. Honestly didn't think it would take that long to heal. Took over 9 months for abdomen to feel healed.

Hi FlowerRose, It is very similar to that uncomfortable after surgery feeling and also to ascites but as I said to Delia it’s over 2 years ago. Doc suggested it could be pain from a dying tumour but it’s been too long now. Hopefully some answers this week, have a fantastic day. Bex xx
