Hi all, this is the first time I'm writing here and hoping I can get some advice. My mum has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer stage 4 back in June 2021 and CA125 was 2377. She then started chemo and we finished 6 cycles with CA125 being 242. Now she started the life maintenance treatment with Niraparib and CA125 is slightly increased to 355. Our oncologist told us not to worry for now , but as you can imagine I am concerned- so I wanted to ask has any of you gone through increases/decreases of CA125 whilst on Niraparib? Is this normal ? I was reading it can fluctuate? If you can share your experience with me I'd be very grateful. Thank you 🙏

Hello, you are right, the ca125 can fluctuate and oncologists tend to look at trajectory over time. Infections or even covid jabs can produce a rise. It is hard to let go of what might be happening but from my experience it’s best to enjoy today without thinking too much about tomorrow. Not easy xx
