That must be difficult for you 😕… have you tried a gastro protector such as lansoprasol ( don’t know US name) might be worth asking for it? x
As Lyndy mentioned, lansoprazole, a proton pump inhibitor ( generic for Prevacid), is used for acid reflux. It is available without a prescription. Like you, I suffer with near constant gastrointestinal pain, cramping and bloating. Sometimes 250 mg of simethicone ( brand name Phazyme) and two charcoal capsules have helped a bit. Both of these meds are available without a prescription. DO NOT TAKE CHARCOAL CAPS WITHIN TWO HOURS BEFORE OR AFTER ANY MEDICATION. Charcoal can absorb your prescribed medication and make it ineffective. It’s been twelve days since my first carbo/taxol infusion and the pain is easing. Next time, I plan to try fasting a day or two before and the day after chemo to see if that helps. Constipation worsens the pain. I’m sorry you are suffering with this Golfjazz and hope you find relief soon. Perhaps your doctor/nurse will have something for you. I sure hope so. Best wishes from Louisiana,
Sashay
Hi there Golfjazz
I’m really sorry to hear that you’ve been suffering from constant abdominal pain and bloating. I can see you’ve had some supportive responses from the forum community, but I was wondering if you’ve been able to discuss this with a member of your clinical team?
Having a conversation with your oncologist or clinical nurse specialist may be able to offer personalised insight to the cause of this, as well as advice on how to alleviate the discomfort you are experiencing.
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you would like to talk anything through with a member of the Ovacome support team. Our support line (+44 800 008 7054 or +44 7503 682 311) is open Monday – Friday, 10am – 5pm (U.K time). I can see you're based overseas - We would be happy to connect via WhatsApp or video call, if you prefer: ovacome.org.uk/forms/1-to-1...

Hi G,I feel your pain.
I’ve been on chemo for over a year now for recurrence. A while back,
I started to occasionally get stomach cramping/like really painful abdominal cramping... it usually happened after taking bp meds and laying down to sleep. Oh it was so bad until one night it was just profound and lasted so much longer.
Anyway, my onco said the chemo takes it toll on the gut lining and prescribed me an antacid.
I thought it was weird cause it wasn’t in my esophagus/ reflux etc... it felt muscular. But man o man, did it ever help. I still take it and have not had a problem since.
It’s called pantoprazole. 40mg.
I wish you full relief .
I know our situations aren’t totally the same, but there’s got to be a solution somewhere.
Thinking of you.
