Mine recurred in the paraortic lymph nodes and the ca125 was a good indicator… it tracks inflammatory markers xx

I don't the answer to this but the ca125 indicator is different for everyone. Some ladies don't get a raised ca125 even when they have extensive cancer whilst others can have incredibly high levels.

Hi Clifden- I don’t know the answer to this either but would be keen to understand what is prompting your question? Are you experiencing bone pains? My wife has OC and has been suffering with gradually worsening pain in her joints/bones. She was admitted for investigation yesterday because the pain has become unmanageable. Her CA125 is decreasing on the current Gem/Carbo treatment but the bone pains do worry me.

All the best with your treatment 🌼

She is on Gemcitamine / carboplatin. Docs have now diagnosed an infection and some antibiotics. Hopefully that will help. She did have an infection in her spine a couple of years into treatment so they’ve said maybe she is prone to this type of infection

It can , of course, but may be cheering to know ovarian ca does not typically metastasise to bone . However with survival rates being prolonged due to new treatments , this could obviously change . I think Olaparib gives stiff, sore joints along with blessings! Personally this is neck and knees . Keep going everyone out there

Exactly, keep going . You are so young to be doing this , I’m old enough to have aches anyway- but I have found hot baths help and also keeping moving even when you don’t feel like it . But keep going with it because there are others treatments lurking around the corner which will be there for you

Don't know about the CA125 although it does rise with inflammation and infection. However, if she is on a parp this could be the reason. I am on nariparib and have started with awful back pain. Best wishes to her x

Yes the pain is really awful. Right across the small of my back, from my waist down and both sides, also under both shoulder blades. I also find if I injure myself, like pulling a muscle or even just stretching too far, it takes far longer than normal to get better. The medics have tried codeine (which sent my stomach into spasm) and morphine (which did not work at all) for the back pain. Now I am on nerve blocker pregabalin alongside paracetamol and this is helping. My Macmillan nurse has oganised this. She is great. Best wishes x

Yes it would be a good indicator (not for everyone) but it is normally very useful as a test.
