Hi can someone tell me what is Ment by 3rd + 4th line chemo I’m so confused with all these different things

Hi PoloThe first chemotherapy treatment you have on your journey is the first line, if it recurs within 6 months then they will change the chemical cocktail given called second line. I have had the first line treatment twice as my recurrence was after 4 years so they just gave me the same chemo again. Then the third mix would be third line etc. Its hard to contemplate when you are in the early stages so try not to worry too much xx leave it to your team to sort out and hopefully you wont need it xx fingers crossed for you

As I understand it the first line chemo is what you have after you are first diagnosed, the second line when there is a recurrence and the third line if you recur again, and so on. Best wishes x

It means the different protocols they administer. In my case lst line was 6 rounds of carbo taxol after radical hysterectomy 2nd line was 3 carbo w 17 avastin. After a year of remission 3rd line was carbo gemsar which didn't work then 4th line was caelyx or doxil also didn't work then 5th line was 8 months of weekly taxol which did work after 4 months rest 6th line was 4 infusions of carbo which did work. Next up is radiation
