Hope you all well. My mum was treated for a recurrence of endometrial cancer in her lymph nodes. Treatment finished in early Aug and showed that the lymph nodes shrunk to a normal size. I assume this means the cancer cells have been destroyed 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Mums been on a trial drug since and had her scan last week. Her next routine appointment is on 10th November during which I assume they will discuss the results. Am I right in thinking that the results are probably ok🙏🏼? Mum did say in passing that the CNS said that they would call if there were any issues… but I’m not sure if I heard mum correctly!
Mums a very very strong lady and doesn’t like talking about the C word and we respect her wishes..
Is my assumption correct? Is no news good news?
She’s being treated at the Royal Marsden
Thank you xxxxxxx

Keeping fingers crossed for your Mum on the 10th. Speaking as someone who is both on active treatment and also a CT radiographer, it's been interesting to see the NHS from the outside. The 'routine' words we use everyday in our professional lives can be received differently by an anxious patient trying to 'interpret' all possible meanings! Generally speaking, scan results may take a few days to report for any number of reasons, so a discussion with the patient at the next clinic review (good or otherwise) is fairly standard practice and the 3 week time frame seems appropriate.
Hope this helps a little bit and I'm sure things will work out for the best. 🤞
