I have just started Carbo/gem after a similar history of treatments and only had my 2nd infusion yesterday and even after the first one my progression symptoms have eased. When I scrolled down in one of your replies I saw that your treatment was GEM/Carbo. Well I know we all react differently but this brings me increased hope. Thank you and Happy Hugs to you x
Thank you, l hope you have the same success x
That is wonderful about your scan. I will be 75 in November. Just wondering when you turn 75. What stage was your cancer in the beginning? Donna U.S.
Thank you, l will be 75 in January, l was diagnosed in 2012 at stage 4 and have had 5 recurrences,do hoping for a nice long break from treatment. Take care
That is great news. You’ve been through so much with this beast but now you’re ned! Long may it continue! Xx
Thank you x
Oh how wonderful. Well done dear. Keep on keeping on x
Thank you, l intend to as long as l can!
Well done! Enjoy your time and do what you want! It’ll be just good not having chemo and dealing with the side effects.Stay safe xx
What great news , enjoy everyminute of it and have a celebration!!!
Thank you x
Well, I was fresh out of hope earlier this week so thank you for your news. It's a lovely boost! I'm on Gem as a single agent at the mo (platinum refractory disease), my midway results aren't brilliant, but fingers crossed.
Did you have any pain on Gem? I get awful stomach and backache which starts about 6 hours after treatment and is pretty agonising for about six hours thereafter. Morphine doesn't touch it, not even 5ml every hour 😵💫
Oh my goodness so wonderful to hear some positive news and wonderful results! I am on my second reoccurrence in less than two years. On Doxil/Carbo........per the scan they did 3 sessions in I am in remission.....NED! So excited! I have 3 more chemo sessions and then Olaparib maintainance hoping to keep the dragon away much longer this time. Long may we tame the beast! I am 63 and you give me wonderful inspiration for many years to come! Funny how when we go through and are on the first week of chemo treatment I think I cant do this anymore and then you start feeling invincible and continue on! Congratulations! Debbie from San Diego!
Hi, thank you for your reply, to answer your question about stomach and backache l was fortunate enough not to have these symptoms. My main problems where the nausea and thrush in my mouth which made everything l ate disgusting. My bloods played up magnesium levels to low and l became anaemic and had to have a blood transfusion otherwise all ok.lts strange how our bodies all react differently to the same drug. I wish you all the best and hope you have a good end result.Take care x.
Hi, your life deserves all these warm responses from us all as many say, it is such a tonic. I do hope I join the 80's club too in 5 years time. Diagnosed at 65 stage 3c, recurrence at 67 with another operation and full chem with no more ovarian cancer since. Diagnosed with bowel cancer four months ago so another major removal of all the large intestine and permanent ileostomy but no chemo needed! Can't tell you how wonderful that news felt!
Warm wishes to everyone, L xx
Fantastic news 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you.
Great news! Relax and stay well!!
I will do thank you x
