Hello lovelies hope you're well? Quick question for you, my daughter had some irregular bleeding last month and obviously due to family history we got a CA125 done which was 17.6 I know this is in normal range but should I push for another in 6 months to keep an eye on it? Xxx

Hi I think it'd be really reasonable to ask for a second test. At least you'd know then if 17 is her base rate. Hope everything works out fine.

Hello lovely lady,

I’m sorry your daughter’s had an issue and I totally understand your question, it certainly can’t hurt to have a further test in 6 months and I’m sure your GP would support this given the family history. Obviously you need to know the source of the bleed irregularities but I’m sure you’re on with that. 17.6 may well be her ‘normal’ and is well within the acceptable criteria and as you know there are different factors that can affect our CA125 reading, she may have inflammation or an infection that’s causing the bleed and will also show on the blood test.

Hope you’re ok.? Big hugs and love 🤗❤️Xx Jane

Hey lovely, I'm all good thank you! I was just thinking oh s..... When she said about it as obviously you know what happened with Cindy. I'll be asking for another CA125 in 6 months so we'll see what her numbers are doing then xxx

Hi CallmeMum, it’s great that you’re on the ball and have had the CA125 already. I think it’s totally reasonable to ask for repeat bloods and I’d also ask the GP to further investigate the bleed now maybe with an ultrasound. Hopefully this will provide reassurance that all is well. The good thing about having family history (if there is one!!) is that you are aware of things to look out for and can get them checked out early. Best wishes x

Hi. Good to hear from you. You might want to ask for a transvaginal ultrasound just for peace of mind. There could be many causes. Xx
