I am not really very knowledgeable of some of the terms, some I can kind of figure out, others not so much. What is NED? I see that here a lot.

NED means no evidence of disease and it's an acronym many women are very very glad to hear!

I'm not sure it's a phrase that all consultants use .... So don't panic if you don't hear it

No evidence of disease means the disease can't be seen on CT.. It may have gone. Xx

Yes if the consultant tells you this, it is a reason to be happy. Hope you are doing okay yourself

Good morning, Minnemay. As the others say NED says there is no evidence, either in the CA125 or on a CT scan; but my understanding and experience is that sadly it doesn't necessarily mean the disease is 'dead' forever.... as we all know, and it has happened to many of us, the CA125 can start to creep up and then the cancer becomes large enouogh to be seen on the CT scan.....but the GREAT thing about NED is that once we've got that we just may have a chance and our bodies can, at least, have a bit of a break from treatment. Definitely an occasion to celebrate and give your healthy cells a chance to get going again! Enjoy NED! x

Hopefully I will be finding out SOON! Get this scan scheduled now..although I was told they would give me 3-4 weeks out from my last chemo & that was Sept. 8. Should at least have it scheduled this week.
