Ive been on Niraparib and Letrozole since March and for the last few days have been getting back spots in front of my eyes (floaters?). Ive checked the list of side effects for both and nothing listed. Has anyone else had this and know cause/remedy?
Ive just taken paracetamol but didn’t help.
Thank you

Hi Robbo 16 I would definitely let your CNS nurse or team know incase they want to check you out and also get checked out at an opticians especially if you’ve also had any headaches or light flashes ?
I had floaters appear when I was on Avastin, just appeared in one eye out of the blue. Had also had a bad migraine the day before which I put down to the stress of a funeral. Went for my Avastin treatment as normal a few days later and when I mentioned them was shocked when I was sent off for a brain scan as Avastin can cause bleeds and to an urgent eye appt. The brain scan was all clear and the optician diagnosed a posterior vitreous detachment ( which is very common especially if you are short sighted ) which they put down to age rather than the Avastin. ( only 57 so was never sure of this ) The same thing happened in the other eye a few months later.
The floaters got less and you adjust so don’t really see them but it’s important to get them checked out incase it’s the start of a detached retina.
Having looked into it floaters can also be due to dehydration or build up of toxins so most likely nothing to worry about but best to get checked out and update your team.
Hi Robb ...had black spots or floaters as you call it when I was dehydrated almost thought I had spider like legs at side of eyes, get hydrated helped but what helped the most was exercising the eyes, close eyes move eyes around in circular motion, read up that this helps and could remove the floaters from the eye, other than that if it persists you would probably have to speak to an eye specialist, normally an operation could be done to rectify the issue, I would probably take a quick look at some sites that actually give good advice as to exercise of eyes ie movement and if it persists then speak to a eye specialist. Hope it all goes well.
