4-th stage ovarian cancer update - GOOD NEWS!

Hello, everyone,

I wanted to share the good news on my mother's condition and give hope to other ladies here.

She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer stage 4 in December 2019 (you can see her whole story in my first post). She had surgery and 6 rounds of chemo. Currently she's on Olaparib/Lynparza (she's been taking it for 9 months) .

Earlier this month she had a PET scan and today we got the results - she's clear! Her CA125 are down to 9 (they were around 4000 when she was firstly diagnosed).

I wanted to share the good news with you, as I've always found comfort in your posts.

I wish you well!

That’s terrific news. Thanks for sharing. Long may it continue!💐

Morning Uniquem, best news I’ve heard today. I’m at stage IV and currently receiving what could be my last chance chemotherapy. I’ve been refused Olaparib because I’ve already tried Rucaparib which didn’t work. It’s wonderful to hear how well your mum is doing. I hope she continues to stay clear for many years to come. My love to you both.

Thank you for happy news . Your mum so young so even better. My story is similar to hers ,except liver involvement too extensive for surgery . Still wonder about that ! And I’m a lot older . Magic Olaparib!!! Jennifer

Fantastic news. I’m nearly 4 years past diagnosis, 3 years post chemo and I’m clear with CA125 9. Long may your mum stay clear.

I know there are some ladies who have very recently diagnosed who will take great comfort from your post.

It’s world OC awareness day and I’m sending all of our Teal sisters a virtual hug.

That's great news Uniquem. My mum was diagnosed in Dec 2013 - Grade 3c HGS. Three lots of chemo later and she's been in remission since June 2017. 🤗 X

Wonderful news! Enjoy Mother’s Day with her! Donna U.S.
