Hello, sorry to hear that niraparib stopped working for your Mum..it seems that it doesn’t work for everyone so it’s good news that her oncologist has a plan. I know chemo isn’t what we look forward to but it can be very effective. Wishing her and you all the best xx

Hi Ali, My parp stopped working and I’m now back on chemo. Apparently they are not licensed to recommence Parps after an initial treatment but my oncologist is going to look at trials post chemo. May be an option for your mum? All the best with the chemo xx

Thank you I hope so x

Hi Ali, my parp, Rucaparib didn’t work so started with Taxol. That worked for a while then stopped so back on Carboplatin. I have stage 1V with liver metastasis. Chemo does work to a high degree in most cases so your mum has every chance of a good result. Love Angela xx

Let’s hope so, this site is a blessing to give people a bit of hope, you feel really lost with what’s going on thank you. How are you doing getting on ? Sending you love and best wishes xx

Hi, just wondering how long your mom was on niraparib. I’m on that since July of 2020. They did have to lower my dose from 300 to 100. I also have to take small breaks from it, because of blood counts that are too high or low. Hope that your mom will do well with whatever they put her on. I live in the US, Donna

Hi Donna

I’ve been on it nearly 4 years. It’s working.

Hi Nicky, my dose started at 200 mgs., not 300. I was wondering what stage were you at and your age. I am 74, will be 75 in November. I was stage 4 after my surgery. It sure has been a journey. Happy that you have been on it for almost 4 years. That’s wonderful! I have neuropathy in my feet from chemo and niraparib. I also am BRCA negative, so I hope this drug will keep working ok. The BRCA positive works with this drug better, at least that’s what my dr. was saying. Good to hear from you, take care; Donna xx

Hi Donna,

I’m now 48 and was stage 4 in 2017. Niraparib has been brilliant for me but 200mg was too tough in my body. I cope on 100mg. Much love

Xx
