Anastrozole

Hi all just got back from seeing my consultant after a 3 month watch and wait, my cancer marker has gone down to 73 and my scan didn't show any cause for concern. He said that my cancer was mildly receptacle to oestrogen so has prescribed me Anastrozole to help bring my marker down more but he said sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't and if I get any side effects to not bother getting a repeat prescription. Does any of you lovely ladies have experience of this drug I am worried that it may give me hair loss. Thanks in advance

I had Anastrozole for 6 months a few years ago with no hair loss & found it quite easy to take. Di

Thank you for your reply I have been looking on the reviews for this drug and have been distraught about the side effects and when people have stopped taking it they are left with the effects. Take care xx

Great news about your marker and scan.I'm taking Anastrazole.Haven't had any hair loss at all.

I do get joint pains.....but I'm also taking Olaparib and that is most likely the culprit.

Hope it goes well for you.

Oh I'm really sorry to hear you've been so upset. That's what cancer can do to youI was pleased when I was given Anastrazole.

I'm BRCA 2 positive (higher risk of breast cancer) and was given it via the breast clinic for prevention.

I have Primary peritoneal cancer so was just pleased to be given something that hopefully helps.

To be honest I dont really look at or think about the side effects with any of the medication. I'll deal with them if I get them.

I just hope I'm going to see the benefits and see the drugs as my best chance of keeping this damn thing in check.

Whatever you decide I hope you're feeling better very soon.

All the very best to you.

Liz.
