Why might my left ankle and foot be swelling and not both feet?

I never have issues with swollen ankles and feet period not even when I've been on them all day which I'm most certainly have not been recently.

It's been several days and I have noticed that my left ankle and foot is most definitely swelling. There is no discomfort and no pain. I have not twisted it or anything special at all like that. Resting my feet and putting them up does not help.

Also, it is only my left foot and not my right foot. I don't think my right foot is really swelling much if at all.

A recent x-ray show that there is increased metastasis around my lungs and abdomen. My right lung due to the plural thesis and tumor growth is not getting the capacity that my left lung is so I almost have a quarter use of it that I normally would.

I have found that when addressing problems with my doctor like this, I get better support if I can be specific in a direction that I would expect them to research and look into. Sometimes they just throw medicine at me and I don't really want that period I know they would try to give me lasix and that is not going to be something I want to take. I kind of like to know what's going on.

Have any of you ladies had similar experiences? Would this be directly associated with tumors or would it be a result of breathing issues? It seems like my heart is working fine and I'm getting oxygen levels reading 97/98, better than average blood pressure readings and so on.

You really should get it checked out, if it’s unusual for you something is definitely going on that needs looking into, better to be safe than sorry.Sorry I can’t be more help.

Take care

I had slight swelling in one foot and leg and doc thought it might be a blood clot, please do get it checked out

I had swelling in both of my feet and they told me not to worry. If you only have it in one foot, it possibly could be a blood clot. Contact your doctor. Hope that you do ok, Donna

Oh I hate to say this but I had a swollen left leg just as you describe before my pleural effusion/recurrence in lung and paraortic lymph nodes ramped up in March. I would say don’t ignore it, get it checked out ASAP. Crossing everything for you that it is something else xx
