I'm having a bad day ,one week on from my second cycle of carbo and taxol I'm still feeling dreadful , tearful, leg pain ,aching, very weak legs, bit breathless with occasional heavy feeling in my chest,I had a clot on my lung first line,I also have an uncomfortable feeling on the left hand side under my ribs, I should be used to this now but worried ,do I phone for advice ,my fear is if I do and they say to go in I'm not sure I can face the hour journey and I feel too weak to walk through the hospital ,husband won't be allowed in. I know there are lots of you in a far worse position than me but I'm struggling today.

So sorry to hear that you are having such a dreadful time. It would be a good idea to get in touch with the hospital though, and if you do have to go in just tell them that you need a wheelchair because you feel so weak, Take care, Caleda

Sorry your struggling , could you ring for an ambulance, . I did when I felt really ill . They keep you separate from anyone else . Or contact your team and say your too ill to travel. I know it’s hard when you have to be on your own .

Hello I’m sorry to hear you are feeling so poorly and scared today. It may be that if you ring them and explain they will send an ambulance and the paramedics will check you out at home then decide if you need to be admitted.Hope you can get the help you need

Big hug.

I'm no medic but I agree with other ladies, call for some help, could the GP do a home visit?

I'm sorry you're feeling so awful. As the other members have said, please do contact your team for advice. It's important to get a medical opinion on what you are experiencing. Please call the chemo helpline, your medical team or GP for advice today. If you have any problems getting hold of someone please call NHS 111.

Hi Cheryl, I’m so sorry you’re feeling so awful but I do think you should phone your team and get checked out. I agree, it is horrible having to go into hospital on your own but the nurses will look after you and make you feel less anxious.

I had to be admitted a few weeks ago with a suspected heart attack ( turned out to be indigestion! ) and I was really upset, but it wasn’t as bad as I’d expected.

Get yourself sorted and then back to thrashing cancer’s ugly arse!

You can do this!

Lots and lots of love and a huge hug,

Denise xxxxx

Hi Cheryl, I agree with everyone else You have got to get yourself checked out medically.

It’s very hard when we are ill and scared to be proactive about our symptoms. I have come to learn when you have cancer sometimes you have to be your own advocate and champion.

Sending lots of love and strength to you Cheryl 💜🙏🦋🌈

So sorry for you. You must advise somebody on your team and also call for an ambulance. Good luck.

I hope by now you have spoken to your GP or team... I always hate that moment when you know you ought to ring but they will probably say come in. I used to put it off but experience has shown me that it’s always better to bite the bullet. Sending hugs and hoping you will feel a bit better soon xx

I’m a bit behind here, but sure hope you’ve called your nursing contact or found a way to be seen. So many weird things can happen to us, I don’t think we should be shy to ask for help.

I feel you. Im up at 11:30 at night with horrible bone pain, can't sleep. Had 3rd chemo of carbo/taxol/herceptin and its worse this time in regards to bone pain. I also had horrible pain under left ribcage , was diagnosed as an ulcer given proton inhibitors and its all but disappeared. Took gabapentin and cbd/thc oil waiting for these to kick in. They do kick in after a few hours. So I'm here with you through this pain. Hopefully you'll find a medication that can help. Claritin works for me during the day, but its at night that the pain is at its worse.

Hi CherylNot much to say other than to agree with the other ladies that you need advice.

I've often found that I really work myself up about something and there is often a straightforward answer.

Take care Cheryl

So sorry to hear this! Are you taking steroids that they should have prescribed you? That made all the difference in the world for me. I was given some the day of treatment and then followed up with 4, then down to 3, 2, etc. Pretty sure that is standard treatment in the US. My fentanyl patch was a lifesaver too! The compazine for nausea was also important.

Stay strong my dear!

I’m so sorry you are going through all that pain. I’ve been there too. The first time I went through this protocol of chemo my dr gave me an rx for dexamethasone taken the day before chemo and 4 days after in step down doses. So very helpful for the random stabbing bone and joint pain. The second time 4 years later I also had the chemo cocktail and the Oncologist did not prescribe the Dex after my first infusion I insisted on her writing the rx and found much relief. I know Claritin also works for some. I’m praying you find some relief❤️

Cheryl, so sorry that you are having a rough time with all that you are going through. I was short of breath a while back and it can be scary. Hope the clot on lung gets treated right and your discomfort under your ribs is’nt anything bad. Keep praying for you and others. Donna 🙏
